Faculty Employment Opportunities

The Mathematics Department expects to be able to make appointments to its faculty of some outstanding candidates to begin in mid-August 2012 or later. There are no a priori restrictions on rank. For best consideration, please apply before February 1, 2012.

Applicants for (tenure-track) assistant professorships and for postdoctoral positions should apply through the mathjobs web site. Some (non-tenure-track) postdoctoral appointments in the Mathematics Department are partially supported by the faculty's research grants. Thus candidates for postdoctoral positions might wish to contact a faculty member at Maryland in the candidate's research area to determine possibilities.
