Simulation of the spatial evolution of compressible turbulence in the solar wind

Dr. Anil Deane

High Performance Computing, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and Institute for Computational Science and Informatics, George Mason University

The results of the spatial evolution of 3D fully compressible MHD turbulence from a new finite-volume code based on Flux Corrected Transport in cartesian and spherical co-ordinates are presented. Simple waves are introduced at the inflow as time-dependent boundary conditions. Spectra and other measures are used to characterize the resulting evolution.
