Organizers
Virtual Talks
There are always more good results then the talk slots. Therefore we invite
participants to submit abstracts of "virtual" talks, with links if desired.
We will post these Virtual Talks
HERE
and also put abstracts on bulletin board at the conference. In the
event
of last minute cancellation by a schedule speaker, we will look through the
virtual talks for possible replacements. Email abstracts (text, html
or pdf) to Mike Boyle, mmb@math.umd.edu .
Student Talks
We will maintain our tradition of student talks.
Advisors who want to recommend students for a
short (20-25 minute) talk should email the organizers.
Conference Wiki and Sharing Rooms
Here is a
link
to a wiki for the conference. The purpose is to facilitate
communication among conference participants, especially with
regard to lodging arrangments such as sharing rooms to reduce
expense. For example, if you are looking for someone to share
a room with, you can type in at the link, and likewise delete your
posting after you've made arrangements.
Lodging
In general, participants (other than invited speakers)
who need rooms should phone a motel directly. Four local motels are
listed below, with the rates they have offered our group
("UMCP Math Department--Spring Conference").
NOTE: our room blocks and
rates are guaranteed only until March 9, 2010.
Participants from abroad or others who can use help making a
reservation can contact Mike Boyle (mmb@math.umd.edu).
(Generally a credit card number is needed, but if that is
problematic we will find another solution.)

Travel and parking information
Click
here for
directions to the math department by car and a map for parking.
Please note that this year's conference is NOT during our campus's
spring break, so all parking rules must be followed strictly.
We CANNOT reimburse or waive parking tickets. On weekdays until 4:00
PM,
you must
park in a visitor lot (expensive -- up to $15/day),
the closest of which is marked in yellow on the map
at the link above. The Math building, where the conference will be,
is also in yellow on that map.

department by public transportation.

three Washington-area airports. Dulles airport is the most inconvenient
of the three area airports.
The Maryland-Penn State Dynamics Workshop
This workshop has been hosted each fall since 1991 by Penn State
University and each spring since 1992 by the University of Maryland,
and is jointly sponsored by the two institutions. The Maryland meeting
is supported by our
Department of Mathematics
and by the
National Science Foundation.

Dynamics
and
Chaos
at Maryland, and the home page of the
Center for Dynamics and
Geometry
at Penn State, which contains information on the Penn State meetings.
