9th Workshop on Numerical Methods for Free Boundary Problems

College Park, Maryland, January 9-12, 2002

Accommodation, Food and Travel Info

Food

Breakfast

Everyday, before the first talk, Coffee, Tea, Bagels and Pastry will be provided in the "Lounge" (Room 3201) which is just in front of the Colloquim room (Room 3206) in the Math building. This is a good alternative (or supplement!) to the Continental Breakfast which will be provided by the Hotel.

Lunch and Dinner

Each participant will be provided with a list of restaurants of the College Park area. A map will also be provided. Notice that some, though not all, of the places are not within walking distance and carpooling will be advisable. In addition to this, there are some good (and bad) food places on the campus itself. Relatively good choices are such as the inexpensive and nearby Dairy, the "classical" Adele's in the Student Stamp Union and, heaven of the veggies and natural food lovers, the world famous Maryland University Food Coop, also located in the Student Stamp Union. (The "bad" places are not hard to find, we'll leave you the task of finding -- and avoiding -- them.)

Cheese, Wine and Posters

On Thursday evening there will be a Poster session around some food and beverage for all participants. This will be held in the first floor of the Math building, in the so-called "Rotunda" (which used to be the quadrant for a Foucault pendulum!)

Banquet

Thus far we scheduled the Banquet for Friday, January 11, 2001 at the Inn & Conference Center, University of Maryland, University College. A Welcome Reception will start at 6:30 pm, followed by dinner at 7:30 pm.

The Banquet consists of a reception with apetizers and drinks, followed by a dinner. The dinner menu (which must be chosen in advance in the RSVP form) is a choice between the following:

The Banquet is free for Invited and Selected Participants.

For other participants the Banquet is covered for one person by the Conference Participation fees ($75.00 which cover also the refreshments and conference material too).
