Title: "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly"

Abstract: We will describe the unique three-segment unit arc in the plane
whose minimal width is as large as possible (the "Trine"). Moreover, we
will investigate the algebraic properties and dynamical systems of this
figure. (This reports and extends joint work with Prof.John E. Wetzel
(UIUC) and Prof.Wacharin Wichiramala(CU, Thailand). The authors
acknowledge significant contributions by Gregory Stanton(UIUC), Tirasan
Khandhawit(DUKE (now MIT)), and Sira Sriswasdi(MIT (now Whitehead
