image from http://www.flyvision.org/sbm/bia.html The Washington D.C. Buddhist Vihara is an educational as well as a religious organization dedicated to the presentation of Buddhist thought, practice, and culture. The vihara is open to anyone for meditation sessions; if you're out of the DC area, you might look for a Shambhala center near you. Access to Insight is an extensive online library of Theravada Buddhist texts. Pema Chodron and Thich Nhat Hanh are two excellent teachers whose writings are widely available.

archival material: The Graduate Student Teaching Committee now has a website! This committee was formed in response to the graduate student petition; the document that is produced will outline what is reasonable/unreasonable to ask of a TA...and I know that anyone who has been a TA in the math dept. has an opinion on that, so get in touch with the committee to share your views.
