Direct methods for linear systems (4 weeks)
Interpolation (2 weeks)
Numerical differentiation and integration (3 weeks)

Prerequisites
MATH 240; and MATH 241; and CMSC 106 or CMSC 114 or ENEE 114. Also offered as CMSC 466. Credit will be granted for only one of the following: AMSC/CMSC/MAPL 460 or AMSC/CMSC/MAPL 466. Formerly MAPL 466.

Homework
Homework will be assigned on Fridays and is due the following Friday in class. No late homework will be accepted. The homework sets will contain problems involving short MATLAB codes.

Please see the MATLAB tutoring schedule for available tutors. The Office of Information Technology sponsors peer training classes in MATLAB. They have a short introduction into MATLAB on the web.

Click here for the list of the homework problems.

Midterm and Final Exam
There will be one midterm and one final examination at the end of the term. Absolutely no make-up exams will be given. If you have to miss the midterm and you have a written excuse according to the University Policies, then you will be given 75% extra credit on the final.

The MathNet Test Bank contains a lot of exams from previous terms that are excellent material to practice for upcoming examinations.

Test dates (tentatively)
Midterm: Wednesday, March 15
Final examination (according to the official examination schedule): Wednesday, May 17, 1:30-3:30 pm.
