(Fifth Edition).
The syllabus of
Math 241
consists of the core material in Chapters 11-15.
- Prerequisites
- Math 141 and any one of the following: Math 240 or Enes 102 or Phys 171
- Tests and Quizzes
- There will be a quiz given at least once a week, except possibly in exam weeks.
Quizzes may be unannounced. There are no planned make-ups for quizzes.
The two lowest scoring quizzes will be dropped, so missing one or scoring
low on one does not hurt you.
During the course there will be four 50-min tests (written in class) with
100 points for each test but the lowest score is halved.
No make-up tests will be given, unless a written excuse according to the
University Policies
is presented in advance.
- Homework
- Homework problems will be assigned throughout the course. You are expected to have
the homework done the second class day after the assignment has been made.
If we have a grader, then homework will be collected once a week and graded.
- Grading
- Four 50-min tests: 350 points
- Homework/quizzes: 200 points (50% homework if we have a grader)
- Final exam: 200 points
- Total: 750 points
- Test dates (tentatively)
- Test 1: Friday, September 28, 2001
