I used to be  in the math department at University of Maryland, on a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship. I got my Ph.D. in mathematics from MIT June, 1999.  A few of my papers are available electronically. You can more easily find me at George Mason University, or check out my current website

In case you're interested, at UMD I taught Combinatorics and Graph Theory, Math 475=CMSC 475 in Spring, '01 and Algebraic Structures, or Math 402 in Fall, '00. My teaching philosophy is that good teaching consists of finding ways (at all levels) to get students to access deep mathematics.

My research interests are largely in symplectic geometry, combinatorics, moment maps, Schubert calculus, and equivariant cohomology.

Both my husband Giorgio and our baby Bigi' had webpages before I did! Since we've forgotten the password to edit Bigi's page, here's Benjamin's updated picture site. For the new baby in our family, go to Ruben's website!
You can see more recent pictures at my current website.
