CMSC/ENEE/MATH 456 Homework
- Homework #1: (Due Thursday, September 5)
NOTE: Submit HW as hard copy, not electronically. For Computer problems, you do not need to hand in the whole printout. A description of what you did (what commands you used and a
description of the result: for example, " I used allshifts and the only meaningful shift was . . . " is sufficient).
- p. 32: 2, 4, 7, 10, 11, 13, 16, 18, 20, 31
- p. 37: 3, 4
The bit.ly links are not yet working. The Computer files needed to do shifts, etc., are obtainable through the webpage for the 2nd edition.
It has links to the computer programs needed for some of the problems.
The ciphertexts in MATLAB are in ciphertexts.m. The ciphertexts for Mathematica are built into the program.
If you don't have access to MATLAB, Mathematica, or Maple, you can use the free software Sage. Here are some instructions.
