This is a change from the previously scheduled date.
The exact schedule of topics covered might not work out exactly
as above, in particular if we lose a day to weather.
Handouts:
- LLN Law of Large Numbers
- CB Statistics: Consistency and Bias
- CLT Central Limit Theorem
(There might be additional handouts.)
Some dates.
The last day of class before the final is Monday May 14.
Schedule adjustment date: Friday Feb. 9
Last date to drop with a W: Friday April 13
Final exam.
The uniform final for all Stat 100 classes will be held Friday May 18
from 1:3O to 3:3O. The location for the final will be announced later,
and it will probably NOT be the usual room for lecture or section meeting.
Try to read the relevant section of the book BEFORE the class in
which we work on it. Of course you will usually not master the section
before class, but your work will make the classes more useful.
Stat 100 is a course with a low number, but it covers quite a lot, from
profound ideas to complicated computations. Despite the precalculus
mathematical level, this is a course of serious intellectual scope and
content. The pace is fast. Keep up and work hard, and you can learn a lot.
