Math Department Course Outline

(Note: As of Spring 2017, the course formerly known as Math 220 became Math 120.)

Syllabus part 1: Course information page, for all of Tim Pilachowski’s sections (textbook, academic honesty and grading information)

Syllabus, part 2: Course schedule, Fall 2023, 02** Tim Pilachowski’s sections (important dates, including exams)

IMPORTANT: The 14th and 15th editions differ slightly. See the notes on the course schedule.

The e-book available in MyMathLab is the 14th edition.

The MyMathLab access code includes the availability of an e-text, and is cheaper for you than purchasing the text/code bundle from the bookstore. If you want a paper text you can either 1) use a copy from the reserve shelf in McKeldin, 2) purchasing the text/code bundle from the bookstore, or 3) purchase a used or new copy from an outside source.

By agreement with the publisher, the same MyMathLab code that you use in this Math 120 class will also work for Math 121 or a repeat of Math 120.

Resources:

Testbank archives of past exams Search the testbank for Math 120. Browse through semesters. All semesters have Final Exams; some have Midterms as well. There are midterm Exams for Fall 2017 and Spring 2018. There may be some for other semesters as well.

All tests are in Acrobat (.pdf) format, and many print well. For ones that don’t, you can choose the “Select Image” tool, highlight each page as a block, copy it, paste it as a picture into a blank word-processing page, and print from there.
