Michael Rapoport

About me: I am a Visiting Professor at the Mathematics department at the University of Maryland, College Park in the fall of 2017 and in the falls of coming years. Before this, I was a Professor at the University of Bonn until I retired from that position in March 2017.

My research area is the arithmetic geometry of Shimura varieties.

I am on the editorial board of Épijournal de Géométrie Algébrique, a new journal that covers algebraic geometry in a broad sense, including complex or arithmetic geometry, algebraic groups and representation theory, and of Algebra and Number Theory, and of International Mathematics Research Notices.
