Abstract:  We study a dispersive system which provides a first correction to compressible Navier-Stokes systems. We show a local in time well-posedness result of this system. We also show its convergence to Sone's ghost effect system under appropriate scalings. Both of these results are established over the whole domain R^N. For bounded domains, we comment on appropriate boundary conditions of a linear moment system derived from linearized kinetic equations with incoming data.
