Abstract:

The classical parabolic-elliptic PKS model is well-understood and most of its dynamics have been classified. However, variants which do not necessarily have scaling and translation symmetries are much less well-understood and require different mathematical tools. I will discuss a variety of examples where the dynamics are similar and different from PKS.
