Analysis of Stokes-Brinkman problem

Abstract:

The Stokes-Brinkman is introduced in order to describe the motion of a viscous incompressible fluid containing a dispersed phase made of droplets. It consists of a classical stationary Stokes system with an extra dissipative term that is proportional to the volumic density of the dispersed phase. In this talk, I shall discuss the rigorous derivation of this system by homogenization of the Stokes problem in a perforated domain with non-homogeneous boundary conditions.
