Proceedings Contributions Requested
We have arranged to publish the Proceedings of HYP2002 by Springer. Contributions should be prepared in Latex using the Springer style files. Please refer to the Springer template latex file and the style file available here: author.tex, svmult.cls, figure.eps. Figures should be attached as postscript files. There is a 10-page limit for each contribution.

If you have difficulty in using the above style files,
please refer to the Springer website:

ftp://ftp.springer.de/pub/tex/latex/mathe/multi/

for instructions of how to use their style files.

Contributions for the Hyp2002 Proceedings should be preferably handled through anonymous ftp to

ftp.caltech.edu/pub/eas/incoming

alternatively, they could be emailed to hyp2002@acm.caltech.edu.

Use your last name and initials to name your files, for example:

last_name-initials.tex
last_name-initials_figure1.ps
last_name-initials_figure2.ps

and so on. In case of using email, please make sure to send a COMPRESSED version (.zip, .gz, .tar) of your file(s).

Full consideration will be given to proceedings which are submitted before July 15, 2002.

Objectives  The aim of the conference is to bring together scientists with interests in the theoretical, applied, and computational aspects of hyperbolic partial differential equations. There will be an emphasis on nonlinear problems and applications in different fields. As has been done in the past, a special effort will be made to make it possible for young scientists to attend to promote their interaction with the more senior researchers.
History This series of international conferences on Hyperbolic Problems was initiated by C. Carasso, P.-A. Raviart, and D. Serre with the first conference held in St-Etienne, France in 1986. Since then it has been organized on a biannual basis in Aachen, Germany (1988), Uppsala, Sweden (1990), Taormina, Italy (1992), Stony Brook, USA (1994), Hong Kong (1996), Zürich, Switzerland (1998), and Magdeburg, Germany (2000). Click here for list of the plenary and invited speakers at these past conferences.
