  • I am currently a postdoc working under the supervision of Prof. Alina Chertock at NC State. I was previously a postdoc working under the supervision of Prof. Pierre Degond in Imperial College. I have recently moved from the Europe to the USA and I would like to start interacting with researchers in the USA working on topics related to kinetic transport equations. Hence, this workshop will provide me with a unique opportunity to get to know young researchers working on related areas to my researc

  • My present research focuses on nonlinear partial differential equations and their numerical approximations. In particular, I have been working on the development of new techniques for for shallow water and related models. Among them are different models of propagation of passive pollutant in shallow water, the EPDiff equation, which models collisions between wavefronts in both ocean and atmosphere, and others.

  • I study computational methods for simulating photovoltaic devices using discontinuous Galerkin and mixed finite element methods as well as domain decomposition methods. Specifically, I am researching the charge transport dynamics of reactive interfaces in nano-scale semiconductor-electrolyte solar cells. I am the developing numerical methods to alleviate the stiffness and non-linearity of the differential equations involved in modeling of these solar cells.

  • I am interested in applications of kinetic theory to agent-based models, in particular modeling trading and the exchange of information in financial markets. For many simple interaction rules and network topologies, it is not possible to obtain analytical solutions for the long-term behavior of the associated Boltzmann-like equations. Stochastic numerical schemes are a promising way to treat these cases, and hopefully tools from the analysis of Direct Simulation Monte Carlo methods can be of use
