ABSTRACT

The group will work on multiscale models for vehicular traffic involving the Rutgers group (PI Piccoli, Postdocs Thibault Liard, Giulia Cavagnari) and visitors (Anais Rat, Rafi Stern, Fangyy Yu, Ye Sun, Maria Laura Delle Monache, Magali Tournus) to work on multiscale models of vehicular traffic with particular focus on control algorithms for autonomous vehicles, variable speed control and moving bottlenecks.

GOALS

1) Define and study variable speed limits for traffic with congestion.

2) Define control problems  and design control algorithms for autonomous vehicles in bulk traffic with multiscale models.

3) Study moving bottleneck control problems.
